Legacy Blades

Honoring Loved Ones in Steel

At Kinzan Forge, we create memorial blades that serve as a timeless tribute to those you hold dear. Master Bladesmith David Goldberg carefully incorporates cremated ashes into the steel, forging a blade that embodies the spirit, legacy, and memory of your loved one.
Each piece is thoughtfully designed with you, ensuring it reflects their unique personality and story. We offer custom-crafted Tantos, Wakizashis, and Katanas, working closely with you throughout the entire process to create a meaningful heirloom for generations to come.

With deep reverence and humility, we approach each blade with the utmost respect. For those who wish to be part of the experience, we welcome family members to witness the forging process alongside David over video conference.
At Kinzan Forge, we do more than craft blades—we preserve legacies in steel.

The Legacy Blade Creation Process

Design Consultation – We work with you to design the blade, selecting the style, color, fittings, and type of metal to reflect your loved one’s memory.

  1. Sending Ashes – Once the design is approved, you send us 1-3 tablespoons of your loved one’s ashes to be carefully incorporated into the forging process.

  2. Forging the Blade – We heat and shape the blade, infusing the ashes into the steel. Upon request, we can provide video footage of this process for you to witness.

  3. Hardening and Polishing – The blade is hardened, polished, and meticulously finished according to the approved design.

  4. Final Touches & Delivery – The completed blade is shipped to you along with a signed certificate from Master Bladesmith David, detailing all pertinent information about the piece, including the date it was forged.
